Hoya is used to display Fukiran at exhibition time to time. Fukiran was enjoyed by high class samurai and lords long time ago. Usually plants were protected and covered by gold or silver when they were shown in public. When people get close, they had to cover their mouth by thin paper called ‘KAISHI’ to not breathe on valuable plants. It was the same methods when Japanese have enjoyed beautiful swords. This Hoya is made by craftman’s hand one by one all by hand. Fukiran is still very special and valuable plants in Japan. This history still remains and we appreciate Fukiran as they did 350 years ago. *pot in picture is not inlcuded
